OVERVIEW
Guide Your Travel is a mobile app designed to simplify and elevate the trip planning experience. The goal was to create a platform where users can explore destinations, organize itineraries, and manage all aspects of their travel in one place, while still feeling inspired throughout the process.
PROBLEM
Many travel planning tools feel cluttered or overwhelming, forcing users to jump between multiple platforms for inspiration, organization, and booking. This creates friction and takes away from the excitement of planning a trip.
SOLUTION
I designed a centralized, user-friendly app that combines inspiration and functionality. By simplifying navigation and focusing on key features, the app allows users to seamlessly move from discovering destinations to organizing their trips.
MY APPROACH
I focused on balancing usability and visual storytelling. The interface is intentionally minimal to reduce cognitive overload, while strong imagery creates an emotional connection to travel. Every screen was designed with clarity in mind, guiding users step-by-step through the planning process.
USER TESTING & INSIGHTS
I conducted user testing with students and frequent travelers to understand how people naturally plan trips.
Key Findings:
Users felt overwhelmed by too many features on one screen
Clear navigation was the most important factor for usability
Visual inspiration (images) played a big role in decision-making
Users wanted quick access to saved trips and wishlists
Design Changes Based on Testing:
Simplified the home screen to highlight only key actions
Improved hierarchy using spacing and consistent components
Added a more accessible wishlist feature
Streamlined the trip creation flow into fewer steps
Increased button visibility for clearer calls-to-action
These iterations helped create a smoother and more intuitive experience.
