OVERVIEW
During my internship with Quinnipiac University Athletics, I developed graphic design solutions across seven varsity sports programs, including menās and womenās ice hockey, basketball, field hockey, menās and womenās soccer, rugby, and track & cross country.
My role focused on game day communications, roster graphics, and digital storytelling. Through cohesive and timely visuals, I helped elevate player visibility, promote events, and strengthen overall fan engagement.
MY APPROACH
I worked with a structured template system in Photoshop and Illustrator that allowed me to maintain consistency across seven sports while adapting layouts to each teamās needs. By reviewing schedules in advance and preparing editable templates, I was able to design quickly under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. This workflow helped ensure accurate game information, strong visual execution, and a cohesive athletics brand across all digital platforms.
Ice Hockey Focus
Designed roster graphics, Saturday signing graphics, and NHL Showcase visuals for menās and womenās ice hockey.
Basketball Focus
Created roster graphics that introduced players and supported high-visibility promotional campaigns.
Pre- & Post-Game Coverage
Designed graphics for field hockey, soccer, rugby, and track & cross country to support communication before and after events.
BIG IDEAS, REAL IMPACT
My work supported Quinnipiac Athleticsā goals of increasing fan engagement, strengthening player visibility, and maintaining a cohesive digital presence across varsity programs. From pre-game promotions to post-game recaps and athlete roster graphics, each design played a role in building stronger storytelling around the teams and their seasons.
For me, this project was about turning fast-paced game updates into meaningful visual storytelling. Working across multiple teams, I learned how consistency and creativity can work together to build stronger connections between athletes and fans.
CONCLUSION
This experience strengthened my ability to design under pressure while managing multiple teams and timelines. I developed scalable design systems that balanced consistency with flexibility, allowing each sport to maintain its identity within a cohesive brand.
It also deepened my understanding of how design supports real-time communication and storytelling. From pre-game promotion to post-game recaps, each piece helped enhance fan engagement and athlete visibility. Moving forward, Iām focused on creating work that is not only visually compelling but meaningful and impactful.
